We Obey and Believe, God Gets the Glory

March 6, 2008

“Deuteronomy 9:4 “Do not say in your heart, after the Lord your God has thrust them out before you, ‘It is because of my righteousness that the Lord has brought me in to possess this land,’ whereas it is because of the wickedness of these nations that the Lord is driving them out before you.

‘In other words, in that period of redemptive history, God was pleased to so relate to His people that He made them the instruments of His judgment in the world; which He does not do today.’” – John Piper

What a humbling reminder that even though God continues to use us to establish His kingdom, to represent His Son, to preach His message, and display His grace and righteousness, it is still HIM that does it all. We are but vessels of clay. We are the clay, He is the potter. Praise God that He uses us to take part in His plan of redemption. May it never build up our pride or make us declare, “look at how the Lord is working among us, He must see our great righteousness”!

Romans 11:36 For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be glory forever. Amen.
